A Kid Like Jake

During the admissions process for kindergarten in New York City, Alex and Greg Wheeler have high hopes for their son, Jake, who is four. The director of Jake's preschool wants them to emphasize Jake's gender-expansive behavior so that he stands out more from the other kids at school. A split between Alex and Greg grows as they try to figure out how to be parents. This split forces them to think about what's best for Jake, as well as for each other.
