A Knight's Tale

As a young child, William Thatcher, a peasant, is dispatched to serve as an apprentice to a knight by the name of Hector. After being urged by his father to "change his Stars," he competes in a tournament in place of Sir Hector, who passes away in the middle of the competition. Sir Hector's death leads to the end of the tournament. He triumphs. He receives his training alongside the other apprentices, and together they earn the title of Sir Ulrich von Lichtenstein.
