Vicky Austin,15, encounters unforeseen hardships with her sister Suzy and brother Rob on Seven Bay Island. Grandpa Eaton, a retired Reverend, appears to be critically ill but acts normally. This summer, Vicky reconnected with wealthy but troubled Zachary Gray. Adam Eddington, 17, asks Vicky to assist him with a research project involving a dolphin named Basil. Vicky realizes she can telepathically converse with the dolphin and his mate, potentially even Adam.
