When Sydney Carton meets the lovely Lucie Manette, he is captivated and ultimately falls head over heels in love with her. Lucie, on the other hand, falls in love with and marries Charles Darnay, completely unconscious to Carton's unwavering devotion to her. When Darnay becomes entangled in the lethal web of the French Revolution and sentenced to death by the guillotine, Sydney Carton devises a treacherous plan to free the husband of the lady he loves from his entanglement.
