Aces High
First World War is in its third year, and aerial combat above the Western Front is killing the country's favorite kids at an alarming rate. Life expectancy for British pilots in early 1917 was less than two weeks. Gresham, the commanding officer of the squadron, is under a lot of stress because of this. During the early days of the Royal Flying Corps, Aces High shows some spectacular aerial battles, and the sensitive direction shows how war can be a waste of time and money, making the movie very moving.
