An Affair to Remember

Nickie Ferrante's return to New York to marry a wealthy heiress is widely publicized, as are his numerous pranks and relationships. Terry McKay, a nightclub singer, is likewise on her way home to her long-term partner when he encounters her. Over the course of several days, they realize they have fallen in love despite their first perceptions of each other. Nickie has never worked in his life, so they agree to meet again in six months atop the Empire State Building. This will allow them time to deal with their current relationships and for Nickie to determine whether he can genuinely make a living. He returns to painting with moderate success. On the agreed-upon date, Nickie is eagerly waiting for Terry, who is rushing to meet him. However, fate intervenes, resulting in misunderstanding and heartache; only fate can heal their relationship.
