Jo Hauser, a physician and recreational soccer player, moves to Berlin to work as an intern in a renowned clinic, hoping to expand his knowledge and expertise while also assisting his handicapped brother Willi Hauser. He becomes a member of a secret brotherhood of doctors led by Prof. Muller-LaRousse, who is doing research on the use of bionic muscles in humans without regard for ethics or the law. All of them are volunteers, and Paula Henning is being looked into by police. When Jo falls in love with a Filipino nurse and develops an addiction to the medications used during the experience, he discovers the truth about the secret society's tactics for scientific advancement.
