Angela
Angela, who is ten years old, puts her younger sister, Ellie, who is six years old, through a variety of so-called "purification" rituals in an effort to cleanse the two of the "evil" that Angela, who believes is the cause of their mother's mental illness, perceives to be within them. Angela, who is, to say the least, precocious, sees visions of Lucifer coming to take her and her sister away, and one of the remedies that Angela devises for this is for them to remain within a circle of their dolls and toys until they see a vision of the virgin Mary come to them. Angela's sister also sees visions of Lucifer coming to take her and Angela away. But thinking in such a way can only bring about an outcome that is suited for her current mental state.
