When two souls connect, nothing can separate them. After the death of his wife and mother Mio (Shido Nakamura), widower Takumi (Akashi Takei) lives a tranquil life with his six-year-old son Yuji (Akashi Takei) (Yuko Takeuchi). Yuji never forgets her promise to him: "I'll see you in a year, when the rains arrive." Takumi and Yuji are enjoying a walk in the woods on the first anniversary of her death when they stumble across a woman seeking refuge from a monsoon deluge. She bears a striking resemblance to Mio, but has no memory of who she is or what she is doing in that place. Family life resumes where it left off, and Takumi and Mio's first encounter in high school brings back memories. Their new life together, however, is disrupted when Mio's old diary is discovered, revealing the mysteries of her history and how they will have to say goodbye once more in six weeks...
