Beasts of No Nation

A drama based on the experiences of Agu, a juvenile soldier fighting in the civil war of a fictional West African country that has not been identified. As Agu is forced to join a troop of soldiers, the film follows his adventure. While Agu is terrified of his commander and many of the soldiers around him, his young youth has been savagely disrupted by the war raging through his country, and he is first divided between contradictory feelings of revulsion and fascination with what is happening. Draws on his experience as a child soldier to depict the mechanics of battle in explicit and visceral detail, creating a complicated and disturbing portrait of Agu as a child soldier.
