Berlin in the summer. Three twenty-somethings: two Berliners, Maria and Niels, and one British student, Chlo. Drifting libidinously across Berlin, they dive headfirst into a joyful and chaotic love affair. They live life to the fullest, grabbing anything and anything they can get their hands on. Their only guide appears to be the pleasure they share – which works wonderfully until Chlo unexpectedly falls pregnant. Insecurity and rage, envy and distrust are now on the rise. Abortion is being considered and refused. Who has the right to speak up, when, and about what? Their odd trio disintegrates, and their previously balanced connection mutates into shifting constellations of two – until it appears that a perilous equilibrium can be restored, if only for a minute. Is their utopia attainable, or is this simply the calm before the storm? It takes effort to love differently. Maria, Niels, and Chlo are unprepared for the world. They aren't either.
