While working as a librarian, Chui Chik makes an effort to maintain a peaceful existence. He has revealed himself to be the instructor of Special Forces Commando Unit 701, a highly clandestine supersoldier project that he was a test subject for. However, after one of the agents kills a team of police officers in an uncontrollable frenzy, the government decides to scrap the experiment and eliminate all of the subjects. The 701 squad is utilized for various government missions. After the extermination attempt failed, Chui Chik assisted the remaining 701 operatives in fleeing. Chui Chik split apart from the rest of his team after escaping. His investigation leads him to the discovery of a violent crime spree that was above the capabilities of the local police department, which he and his colleagues were responsible for. With the help of his heroic alter-ego "Black Mask," he sets out to prevent them from succeeding. Black Mask is virtually invulnerable because he has lost his ability to feel pain as a result of the military's operation on the super-soldiers.
