C'est la vie!
Max is a jaded veteran of the wedding planning industry. His most recent— and final— gig is a hell of a party, complete with stuffy period costumes for the caterers, a pompous, hypersensitive singer who thinks he's a French James Brown, and a glum, micromanaging groom trying to make Max's night as awful as possible. Max's coworker and ostensible lover, Joisette, appears to have written him off, as she goes about her professional tasks while openly flirting with a much younger server. It's going to be a very long night, especially once the groom begins his aerial serenade.
