City Beneath the Sea

Pacifica is an undersea metropolis populated by twenty-first-century colonists. Originally envisioned as a strictly scientific installation, the US government now wishes to store there all of its gold stockpiles from Fort Knox, as well as a wonderful new radioactive element. The brother of Pacifica's resurrected previous commander intends to steal the riches, and the city itself is threatened by an asteroid from outer space.
