"Marcus Julian," a convicted felon who served eight years in prison, comes home to an impoverished neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois, after eight years in prison. Marcus, the product of a dysfunctional family system, operated under a "street-code" of cruelty, as did so many others in his community at the time. The "Gangster Disciples" ruled the regions, and as a previous outstanding member, he continued to harbor remorse for the mob-related activities that had led to his imprisonment in the first place.
