Coco Before Chanel

The early life of Coco Chanel is depicted in a 2009 movie. The orphanage where Gabrielle Chanel was raised, where her father never returned, has left her working at a provincial bar for the last several years after she was released from it. When she performs with her sister every night, she's known as Coco, and she's both a seamstress and a singer for the artists. A relationship with Baron Balsan affords her access to French society and a chance to showcase her talent for design.
