Come See The Paradise is a deeply moving love story set against the backdrop of a dramatic and contentious period in American history. It chronicles the romance and eventual marriage of Jack McGurn (Dennis Quad), a fiery Irish American, and Lily Dawanura (Tamlyn Tomita), a beautiful Japanese American, at the outbreak of World War II. The cultural conflict, which is first difficult for the two lovers, becomes irreconcilable with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor. The Kawamuras and Lily are relocated Jack is drafted into the Army and sent to a desolate, outdoor detention camp in California, powerless to assist the lady he loves and relinquishing all chance of ever winning her family's acceptance.
