When Jean Grey begins to spiral out of control, the X-Men are confronted by their most formidable and powerful adversary. Jean is nearly murdered during a rescue mission in outer space when she is struck by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she comes home, this force not only renders her much more powerful, but also considerably more unstable.
