Desperately Seeking Susan

Roberta is a dissatisfied suburban housewife who becomes obsessed with a lady named Susan, whom she only knows about because she reads messages to and from her in the personals section of the newspaper every day. An advertisement with the headline "Desperately Seeking Susan" sparks the public's interest and leads to a proposed rendezvous between the two women. Roberta joins them, and via a series of circumstances including amnesia and mistaken identification, she finds herself in Susan's life and becomes her confidante.
