Mike Harper (Rod Taylor), an American businessman dispatched to the United Kingdom, relocates with his wife Janet (Doris Day). Mike's new assistant, Claire, is gorgeous, and she quickly suspects Mike of continuing with her (Leon Askin). Mike has also been spending a lot of time with his bachelor mates from the United Kingdom. Claire, frustrated and lonely, engages charming antiques expert Paul (Sergio Fantoni) to decorate the Harper home, maybe making Mike envious.
