During their journey across the desert, Willard Grange and Ellen Grange were saved by Jess Remsberg, an experienced frontier scout. He has been hired as a scout for a cavalry troop in the Army. In addition to Willard, Ellen, and their infant son, Toller, a veteran of the 10th Cavalry will be riding along with them. Chata, the Apache chief and grandfather of Ellen's kid, traps the party in a gorge. Willard is kidnapped and subjected to torture. Just in time, Jess slinks away with reinforcements and saves the day. Willard Grange, the guy Jess has been searching for, is in fact the target.
