Easy Street

For some reason, Charlie the Tramp is captivated with Edna and returns the collection box he had taken from the mission. Reformed, he joins the police force and is sent to Easy Street, a crime-ridden neighborhood. When Eric the Tough can't be tricked or beaten, he anesthetizes him with a gas pipe. As a result of his heroic actions, he is now able to assist a large number of the residents of Easy Street. Despite the fact that Eric has escaped from prison and that Edna has been kidnapped, Charlie (who has been recharged by sitting on a dope's needle) triumphs over all. Both Easy Street and Eric have undergone transformations.
