Empire of Passion

A young man has an affair with a woman who is older than him. He is enamored with her husband and decides to assassinate him. They strangle the spouse and drop his body down a well one night after he had had a large amount of sake and was in bed. To allay suspicions, she lies that her spouse has gone to work in Tokyo. The wife and her lover have been secretly seeing each other for three years. Finally, suspicions grow to a point that people begin to gossip. To make matters worse, her husband's ghost appears to her, and the authorities arrive to investigate her husband's disappearance.
