During the Nazi occupation, Danish resistance assassins Bent Faurschou-Hviid ("Flame") and Jrgen Haagen Schmith ("Citron") obey Winther, who is in close communication with Allied authorities. The other drives. Only Danes until1944, when Winther orders Germans killed. Bent's contact with the intriguing Kitty Selmer, who may be a double agent, causes him to distrust Winther's motives.
