Ray, a former convict and widower, is plotting a coin heist with two accomplices in order to fund the purchase of his own bakery. He does not anticipate, however, his son Timmy, who was living with Ray's sister, showing up at the house in the midst of preparing. Timmy is overlooked, and Ray and his henchmen successfully pull off the crime. Timmy attracts his father's attention by stealing and concealing the coins. To reclaim them, his father must take him to a variety of locations and treat him like though he enjoys his company. They develop feelings for one another, but Timmy will not stay with his father until he gives up the coins.
