Gloomy Sunday
Budapest during the 1930s. Laszlo, the proprietor of a restaurant, hires the pianist András to perform in his establishment. Both guys fall in love with the lovely waitress Ilona, who inspires András to compose his lone piece. His song of Gloomy Sunday is initially adored, and later dreaded, because its melancholy melody spawns a string of suicides. The delicate equilibrium of the sensual ménage à trois is upset when the German Hans falls in love with Ilona as well.
