Following the events of God of Gamblers II, Tai-Kun regains his ESP capabilities and pursues vengeance on Sing, the Saint of Gamblers. Because of this, Tai-Kun and Sing are sent to Shanghai in 1937, along with their fellow disciples. Finding out who defeated the French "God of Gamblers" Pierre Cashon in that era (the enigmatic "Comment allez-vous"), and eventually how to travel back to Hong Kong in1991, Sing meets his own grandfather Chow Tai Fook and the benevolent millionaire Ding Lik.
