Gogol. Viy
A Dark Horseman is killing young girls near the village of Dikanka. He has already killed 11 women. Nikolai Gogol, a Saint Petersburg scribe, is tasked with leading the inquiry, but the closer he comes to solving the case, the more fits he has, resulting in gruesome visions. As soon as he learns that Liza is the next victim, his heart is broken. He doesn't think he can protect her or fight off the killer. He meets Khoma Brut, the witch hunter, martial artist, and philosopher, who can help him. In a chapel, they read the funeral service for Ulyana, the witch, and call on the evil spirit Viy.
