Hearts of the West

Lewis Tater, an Iowa farm lad, aspires to be a Western novelist like Zane Grey. It's a postal school in a remote Nevada railroad depot. Outrunning the con artists, Lewis runs upon "genuine" cowboys, actors filming a western film in the Arizona desert. The would-be writer ends himself acting in Westerns for the Depression-era Hollywood studio Tumbleweed Productions.
