I Give My First Love to You

Doctors discover that Takuma has an abnormal heartbeat as an infant, and he needs to be treated by a cardiologist. In the hospital, he quickly develops a friendship with the little daughter of his doctor. A few days later, Takuma is told by Mayu and her father to expect him to die at the age of 20 because his condition is so bad. To make up for his ignorance, Takuma makes a commitment to Mayu when they are both 8 years old to marry her when they are both 20 years old. Eventually, Takuma realizes he can't honor his commitment to Mayu, so he tries to distance himself from her in an effort to protect her.
