A cold, damp wind blows one dark dawn as a man walks alone through the darkness. Francesco Prencipe is on his way to see Judge Giovanni Mastropaolo, his best friend, who he hasn't seen in almost two years. The men drive for two hours but don't talk much. Later that morning, the Judge's body is found. He had been shot once in the head. Francesco was the last person to see him alive, and only his fingerprints were found in the house.
