To seek other life experiences and meet new people, Gaetano, a young Napoletan, decides to leave home, work, and friends behind. Arriva a Firenze, la zia's home. Marta meets and falls in love with him in an ambulatory, where he lives. Then there's the encounter with Riccardino, a young guy frustrated by his oppressive mother, and the father who expects the miracle of regaining use of a lost hand. The young man decides to stay in Florence and raise his son as a father, even if Marta is unwilling to reveal his father's name.
