While on vacation with her mother and stepfather in Germany, André Bamberski's daughter Kalinka,14, died. Bamberski, convinced Kalinka's death was not an accident, launches an investigation. A faulty autopsy report leads him to suspect Kalinka's stepfather, Dr Dieter Krombach, of murder. Afraid of losing his chance to indict Krombach in Germany, Bamberski moves the trial to France, where he will devote his life to Kalinka's justice and Krombach's execution
