The film focuses on, Norman, a world-weary manager of a pier theater in a seaside hotel. Norman has worked in the theater for every one of his life, yet will decline that the regional council, which own the theatre are intending to install more business monitoring in an attempt to boost audience numbers. As the story unfolds he understands it might be time to move on and also place behind him the ghost of 50s & 60s singer Alma Cogan, who executed at the theater several years back.
