Into the Abyss
Famous filmmaker Werner Herzog obtains what he calls "a stare into the abyss of the human soul" through his interviews with people involved, including 28-year-old death row inmate Michael Perry (who was set to die eight days after his interview with Herzog). Herzog's probe, like he has in the past, reveals layers of humanity and takes the viewer on an illuminating journey out of dangerous land.
