Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart

Jack is born on the coldest day in Scottish history in 1874. His heart stops beating as a result of the extreme cold. Edinburgh's responsible midwife saves him by replacing his heart with a clock. So he lives and is protected by the midwife. But he must not become angry or excited because this endangers his life by causing his clock to stop working. Worse, when he grows up, he will have to face the fact that he cannot fall in love because it will stop his fragile heart.
