Joe the King

A 14-year-old who is poor and abused by both his mother and father is having a hard time keeping his life together. Taking food from the diner where he works turns into bigger and bigger thefts until he steals a cash box from there. However, even though Joe spends the money to pay off some of his parents' debts and to buy back the records that his father broke while angry, he doesn't get any thanks from them.
