Terry Griffith is sure that she lost the writing competition at her high school because she is a girl, and she sets out to prove her theory. Terry chooses to switch high schools and pretend to be a boy in order to prove her case. As a result of Buddy's assistance, she quickly makes friends with the male students at her school, including the gorgeous Rick, who eventually becomes her new best buddy. However, when she falls in love with him, her gender-swapping causes complications.
