Kit Kittredge: An American Girl

When Kit Kittredge's father loses his business and leaves to look for work, the Great Depression hits her hard. Kit is played by Oscar contender Abigail Breslin, who leads a stellar cast in the theatrical debut of "American Girl." Kit and her mother are forced to accept boarders-paying house guests-in order to keep their home. These guests turn out to be great storytellers. Kit's new hobo friend Will is the top suspect after his mother's lockbox containing all their money is taken. Kit refuses to believe Will would steal, and her attempts to discover the truth land her and her pals in serious difficulty. The robbery, according to the police, was an inside job carried out by someone they knew. So, who did it if it wasn't Will?
