Langston Bellows (Gbenga Akinnagbe) is left alone in Brooklyn's housing projects when his sibling vanishes. Langston must now take control of his life from his overbearing mother (Alfre Woodard). A celebrity magazine journalist who promotes questionable prescription medicine combos, he sets out to find the cure. If Langston can become "mentally excellent," he'll be able to live independently with his lover, who may be a fantasy construct. Finding his mystery doctor and hero leads him into the shady world of pharmaceutical marketing.
