Legendary Amazons
The film is set in early 11th century China, under the reign of Emperor Renzong. It's all personal for the Emperor, as the government is corrupted and war rages on his borders. The Western Xia army invades the Song Dynasty. Yang Zongbao is the only survivor of the Yang clan, a line of generals who devoted their life to protecting the Song Dynasty from foreign invasions. When the deceitful Imperial Tutor Pang refuses to dispatch reinforcements, he dies tragically. Mu Guiying, Yang Zongbao's widow, leads the other widows of the Yang clan into combat to carry on their husbands' lineage.
