Rachel, a rookie police officer, is ready to start her first night shift in a run-down police station in a Scottish backwater. A spot where the tide has receded, leaving stranded a motley assortment of the aimless, the forgotten, and the bitter-and-twisted, who all believe they should be elsewhere.
