In this drama, a young African-American couple navigates the perilous waters of love and athletics. Omar Epps and Sanaa Lathan portray Quincy McCall (Omar Epps) and Monica Wright (Sanaa Lathan), who grew up in the same neighborhood and have known each other since they were children. As they grow into maturity, they fall in love, but they also have another all-consuming passion in common: they both enjoy basketball. Because they've been fans of the game all their lives, they possess a great deal of skill on the court. Even as they battle to make their relationship work, Quincy and Monica pursue distinct career paths in high school and college basketball, with the ultimate goal of becoming stars in major league professional basketball.
