Clark Davis' (Wes Brown) plans to travel the world are jeopardized when he and a friend have a brawl that causes damage to a local cafe. Clark serves his term as a farmhand for the Barlow sisters, Ellen (Julie Mond) and Cassie (Nancy McKeon), thanks to a plea arrangement with the Sheriff (Jere Burns) and Millie (Nancy McKeon) (Abigail Mavity). Cassie's older sister Ellen is perplexed by Cassie's friendliness with Clark; she accepted the Sheriff's offer only because the farm had become too much for her to handle alone. Clark is gradually capturing Ellen's affections, but a tumble results in a catastrophic brain injury. Ellen's ex-fiancé returns to win her back after Ellen nursed him back to health. Will Clark continue on or return to the place where love first blossomed?
