Love in the Afternoon

One of Rohmer's Six Moral Tales, and the final one to be published. Frederic lives a comfortable bourgeois existence; he is a partner in a small Paris firm and is happily married to Helene, a teacher who is expecting her second child in the near future. Frederic daydreams about other women in the afternoons, but he has no intention of acting on his fantasies. Chloe, who had previously been a mistress of an old friend, started stopping by his office on a regular basis one day. The two of them begin meeting as friends on an infrequent basis in the afternoons, until Chloe decides to seduce Frederic, causing him to face a moral quandary.
