Lenz is a daydreamer. Charming, creative, and – as is expected of a thirty-year-old in Berlin – unable to make decisions. After an all-night party, Lenz wakes up next to Ira completely crazy. Lenz is in love. Same as Ira. The summer of love starts with fooling around through the Berlin nights, drinking beers by the canal, and talking about sex and childhood. Everything looks beautiful. Up until Ira asks the one question that changes everything: "Do you want to have kids?" Now is the time for Lenz to do what he does best when things get tricky. He goes off. He doesn't have anything to hold on to, so he wanders aimlessly through the summer and meets up with the heroes of his daydreams, who keep asking him about his feelings. In the meantime, his friend Kenn looks at Lenz with affectionate confusion. When fall comes, Ira will have to face Lenz, and he will have to face the big "whatsoever."
