Meet John Doe

As a parting shot, sacked reporter Ann Mitchell publishes a fictitious letter from unemployed "John Doe" who threatens suicide in response to social woes. The newspaper is compelled to rehire Ann and recruits John Willoughby to assume the identity of "Doe." Ann and her superiors cynically milk the narrative for all it's worth, until the fabricated "John Doe" philosophy spawns a political movement.
