Amin, an aspiring screenwriter who lives in Paris, goes home for the summer to a fishing village in the South of France. It is a time for him to spend time with his family and his old friends. Together with his cousin Tony and best friend Ophélie, he spends his time between the Tunisian restaurant that his parents run, the local bars, and the beaches where girls go on vacation. Amin is enchanted by all the beautiful women around him, while his cousin, who is a dionysiac, throws himself into their sexual pleasures with euphoria. With his camera and the bright, warm light of the Mediterranean coast as a guide, Amin goes on his philosophical quest and gets ideas for his screenplays. When it comes to love, only Mektoub (which means "destiny" in Arabic) can decide.
