The English blackmail a German national who was living in India during World War II into pretending to be an SS officer on board a cargo ship traveling from Japan to Germany with a significant quantity of rubber for use in tires. The German was forced to comply with the English's demands. It is his responsibility to destroy the ship's scuttling charges so that the captain will not be able to sink the vessel in the event that they are intercepted by English warships.
