"Muffin Top: A Love Narrative" is the story of Suzanne (Cathryn Michon), a Malibu University Women's Studies Pop Culture professor who studies pictures of women in the media for a livelihood but is made insecure by our culture's incessant parade of feminine perfection. It turns out on her birthday that her husband, a network executive (Diedrich Bader), has had sex with one of his younger, thinner co-workers (Haylie Duff) and wants a divorce. She has been going through IVF treatments to get pregnant by him. People have a birthday today. As a result, she goes on to find a more authentic version of herself, even though being single in Los Angeles is a great thing.
